AULOSInterp Program V3.2

AULOSOut - Result File Post Processor

AULOSLay - New Product!!!

A postprocessor for AulosGrid Series file (.ags file) output which allows model results at selected moments ("snapshots") to be processed into maps using Surfer or similar mapping packages which read grid files in Surfer format. Maps may be prepared showing a choice of depth, water level, local flux vectors, or flow velocities at grid resolutions down to 1m x 1m. For example, the option of mapping depth and velocity vectors is activated by using the "TF" button to overlay a gridded digital Terrain File (e.g. a Lidar-based DTM). AulosLay is posted at the AULOS web site for free downloading.

AULOSInterp Program V3

Hydra Software Ltd. believes that it is appropriate to make some of its software available at no charge, in order to demonstrate the approach taken in the design of the purchasable products, and to demonstrate the power and convenience of these products.

AULOSInterp is a demonstration program that shows the interpolation functionality that operates as a part of the full AULOS package. AULOSInterp takes as input the coordinates of two or more cross-sections, (including open channels and culverts). It then prepares a set of cross-sections interpolated at positions between the initial ones, using a parameter Dx-Max, the maximum separation you want to be used between successive cross-sections. You can then step through successive cross-sections, and view the coordinates and a plot of each cross-section, as well as saving the interpolated cross-sections to a text file.

Version 3.2 of AULOSInterp is compatible with AULOS v3 files as well as AULOS v2 files.

We expect this facility will be useful to hydraulic engineers whatever the modelling package they are using.

AULOSOut - Result File Post Processor

AULOSOut is a free utility which can be used to tabulate selected results in terms of all common flow parameters such as friction slope from existing AULOS result files. This means that AULOS result files can be archived alone and still support result post-processing even if a need for this was not forseen at the time the model was run.

AULOSOut: Available Parameters

The AULOSOut utility offers a choice of a wide range of flow parameters in three groups:

1. Result Parameters
These are level h and flow Q, the basic results from which all others can be computed.

2. Depth Parameters
The level h can be presented as three types of depth - the Left Freeboard, Maximum Depth and Right Freeboard.

3. Derived Parameters
Provided the "Model" option has not been switched off by the user for the run which produced the result file, the following parameters can be selected for tabulation:

Area A
Surface Width B
Wetted Perimeter P
Hydraulic Radius R = A/P
Mean Velocity V = Q/A
Velocity Head vh = V2/2g
Energy Head H = h + vh
Friction Slope Sf
Celerity c = (gA/B)1/2
Froude No Fr = V/c

AULOSOut can be used on both V2 and V3.2 result files.
